Dogs, cats, birds (except poultry and birds of prey), ornamental fish and tortoises, which comply with the legal limitations and document requirements may be accepted as baggage in the hold or cabin, depending on their characteristics.
Acceptance in hold
Dogs and cats, except for snub-nosed and dangerous breeds, are accepted. To manage your request, please contact our Booking Offices. You can only pay for this service at the airport.
T&Cs:
The carrier must be suitable: resistant, safe, comfortable, ventilated and large enough to allow your pet to stand in a natural position, turn around and lie down. If the carrier doesn't meet the minimum acceptance conditions, it will be rejected at boarding. Pet shops and specialised transport companies usually stock suitable carriers.
Permission to travel with your pet will only be granted when all the flights in the booking have been confirmed.
Different types of planes have different limitations regarding the number and size of pet carriers accepted in the hold.
Acceptance in the cabin
Dogs, cats, ornamental fish, tortoises and birds (except poultry and birds of prey) may travel with you in the cabin if they do not exceed 8 kg in weight, including the pet carrier.
You can make the booking through iberia.com when you buy your ticket in the case of dogs, cats, tortoises and birds. To add your pet later on or bring ornamental fish, you will have to obtain prior permission by contacting our Booking Offices. In that case, you will only be able to pay for this service at the airport.
T&Cs:
The maximum carrier size is 45x35x25 cm and the sum of the three dimensions may not exceed 105 cm.
The size and weight of the animal must be within the stated limits on both the outward and return flight.
Under no circumstances may pets leave their carrier, and you are responsible for their care during the flight.
Acceptance as air cargo
If, for any reason, your pet can't travel with you in the cabin or hold, you can transport it as cargo. In that case, please contact Woof Airlines.
