Check the change and refund conditions depending on whether your flight has been disrupted or your plans have changed:
If your flight is cancelled or delayed by more than five hours and you decide not to fly, you can claim a refund voucher that you'll receive instantly to use for future purchases with Iberia. You can also process the refund as cash returned to the payment method you used to make your booking. This process will take seven business days or longer in periods of high demand. Once your request has been processed, the money will take up to 30 days to reach your account, depending on the bank. You should contact your bank if it doesn't reach your account within that time.
If you bought your ticket with Avios, they will be returned to your Iberia Club account.
Regardless of the type of refund you choose, you must claim it through:

If you want to cancel your flight and claim a refund for the price of the ticket, or if you want to change the date or time, you can do so if you chose a flexible fare in any of the Business, Premium Economy and Economy cabins, or if you added Flexible Ticket as an extra. Fares with restrictions don't allow refunds or changes, or if they do there is a penalty fee.
For tickets purchased on iberia.com, check the refund conditions in Manage your booking or call our Booking offices. For tickets purchased through an agency, contact them directly.
If you claimed your refund by phone through our Customer Service Call Centre, you can check the status of your claim through Refund claim tracker.
If you claimed it from the travel agency through which you made the booking, contact them to find out the status of your claim.
Important: Management fees are non-refundable unless you claim a refund due to a flight delay, cancellation and/or flexible booking in markets within the European Union.
You can travel with a child on the same plane but in different cabins provided you bear in mind certain conditions:
The child must be over 5 years old. For air safety reasons, if the child is under 12 years old they will be treated as an unaccompanied minor (UM) and you will therefore have to book the Unaccompanied minor service. We will therefore accept responsibility for their transport but you will be responsible for their health, well-being and conduct. We recommend that you book this service well in advance because there is a limited number of seats available for UMs.
If the child is 12 or older, there is no special procedure. You can make an individual booking in the desired cabin.
Name changes for seat and/or ticket bookings are NOT allowed. We therefore kindly request that when you make your booking you enter your full name exactly as stated on the travel document you will show at the airport on the day of the flight. If you see that your names or surnames appear together on your ticket even though you entered them separately when booking, this is completely normal and correct. This is because the booking system automatically puts them together the same field.
If you need to correct the name on the ticket, you can request free rectification through our Booking offices in the following cases:
Add or remove the first or middle name. For example, María Dolores instead of Dolores, or vice versa.
Change one or more letters of the surname. For example, Fernández instead of Hernández; Martín instead of Martínez.
Correct a typo in the name/surname. For example, Fernández instead of FernáMdez.
Change the name to one of the official languages, e.g. Pere instead of Pedro.
Change the order of the surnames or include another one, leaving the name and original surname the same. For example, Vargas Pérez instead of Pérez Vargas; Martín Segura/Antonio instead of Martín/Antonio.
If you bought your ticket through an agency, you must contact them to request a name change.
Terminal 1 at Barcelona airport is connected to the city and other nearby areas by taxi, metro, bus and commuter train via T2.
From here there is a bus service that connects both terminals in just 10 minutes.
